Updating Personal Information - Students

Student workers can update a variety of personal information in Pitt Worx as it relates to their student worker position at the University.

Please note: Updating personal information in Pitt Worx is not the same as updating academic information. If you need to update certain personal information that relates to you as a student, please contact the Office of the Registrar.

Emergency Contact Information

Adding a New Emergency Contact

  1. After logging in to Pitt Worx, select Document Records.
  2. Select the Add button.
  3. Enter Emergency Contact into the Document Type textbox field or select it from the dropdown menu.
  4. Complete any required information in the fields denoted with an asterisk.
  5. Add information for multiple emergency contacts, if desired.
  6. Select Drag files here or click to add attachment or drag and drop to add any necessary attachments to the Attachments. field.
  7. Select the Submit button.

Editing an Existing Emergency Contact

  1. After logging in to Pitt Worx, select Document Records.
  2. For the listed contact, select the View More Details icon (eyeglasses icon).
  3. Select the Edit button.
  4. Make changes to any necessary field(s). Required fields are denoted with an asterisk.
  5. Select Drag files here or click to add attachment or drag and drop to add any necessary attachments to the Attachments. field.
  6. Select the Save button.

Disability Information

  1. After logging in to Pitt Worx, select Personal Details under the Quick Actions menu.
  2. Navigate to Disability Info and select the Expand arrow.
  3. Select the Add button to add a Disability status.
  4. Select your country of employment in the Country dropdown menu. In most cases, this will be United States.
  5. Select the appropriate response to Please check one of the boxes below.
  6. If you selected Yes, I Have A Disability, or Have A History/Record Of Having A Disability, a Reasonable Accommodation Request textbox will appear.
  7. Select Drag files here or click to add attachment or drag and drop to add any supporting documentation to the Disability Attachments field.
  8. Select the Submit button.

Ethnicity

  1. After logging in to Pitt Worx, select Personal Details under the Quick Actions menu.
  2. In the Demographic Info section, select the Edit pencil icon to make changes to your ethnicity information.
  3. Select the appropriate ethnicities.
  4. Select the Submit button.

Gender

  1. After logging in to Pitt Worx, select Personal Details under the Quick Actions menu.
  2. In the Demographic Info section, select the Edit pencil icon to make changes to your gender.
  3. Select the gender dropdown menu and then select your gender identity.
  4. Select the Submit button.

Home Address and Tax Information

Home Phone Number (Non-Work)

  1. After logging in to Pitt Worx, select Contact Info under the Quick Actions menu.
  2. Navigate to the Communication section and select the Edit pencil icon next to the phone number that you would like to change.
  3. Make any necessary changes to any of the available fields related to your non-work phone number. Required fields are denoted with an asterisk.
  4. Select the Submit button.

Personal Email (Non-Work)

Editing a Home Email

  1. After logging in to Pitt Worx, select Contact Info under the Quick Actions menu.
  2. Navigate to the Communication section and select the Edit pencil icon next to the email address that you would like to change.
  3. Make any necessary changes to any of the available fields related to your personal email.
  4. Select the Submit button.

Adding a New Home Email

  1. After logging in to Pitt Worx, select Contact Info under the Quick Actions menu.
  2. Navigate to the Communication section and select the Add button and then select Email Details.
  3. Select the Type (of email) from the dropdown menu and enter your email in the Email field.
  4. Select the Submit button.

Personal Payment Information (Direct Deposit)

Adding Personal Payment Information

  1. After logging in to Pitt Worx, select Pay.
  2. Select the Payment Methods card.
  3. Select the Add button.
  4. Complete any required information field denoted with an asterisk. Add any optional information if desired.
    • Account Number: Enter your desired account number without dashes or extra spaces.
    • Account Type: Select Checking or Savings from the dropdown menu based on the account you are adding.
    • Bank: Select Banks located in the US from the dropdown menu. This is the only supported option.
    • Bank Branch: You must type your routing number into this field. Autocomplete will find your bank and will display a list from which to select. The Routing Number will populate automatically.
    • Active: Select the Active checkbox to keep this account as an option from which to choose in Payment Methods. You can keep all of your accounts active. If you remove the checkmark from the checkbox, it will take a few hours to deactive the account. You will then not be able to choose it as a method of payment.
  5. Select the Save button.

Editing Personal Payment Information

  1. After logging in to Pitt Worx, select Pay.
  2. Select the Payment Methods card.
  3. Select the Edit pencil icon.
  4. Complete any required information field denoted with an asterisk. Add any optional information if desired.
    • What do you want to call this payment method?: Give your payment method a name. Choose anything that will help you to remember the payment method you are using, for example “Checking" or "Savings."
    • Bank Account: Select the dropdown arrow to choose which bank account to which you would like your direct deposit to go.
  5. Select the Save button.

Removing Personal Payment Information

  1. After logging in to Pitt Worx, select Pay.
  2. Select the Payment Methods card.
  3. Select the Edit pencil icon.
  4. Select the Delete button.

Veteran Self-Identification Status

  1. After logging in to Pitt Worx, select Personal Details under the Quick Actions menu.
  2. In the Demographic Info section, select the Edit pencil icon to make changes to your veteran self-identification status.
  3. Select the appropriate veteran self-identification status from the dropdown menu.
  4. Select the Submit button.
